RestorePath is a Go service with a Postgres-backed catalogue and content-addressed encrypted storage. Every architectural decision was made with an MSP running hundreds of customer tenants in mind.

Every tenant gets its own DEK, wrapped by a Key Encryption Key you control. KEK rotation, DEK rotation, and BIP-39 mnemonic recovery built in. AES-256-GCM throughout.

Immutable backups
Content-addressed storage means every blob is keyed by its hash. Pack-file compaction reclaims space without touching data. Ransomware can encrypt your production tenant; it can't rewrite a backup it can't address.

Datto SaaS Protection
- The MSP-channel veteran with the most polished console. Owned by Kaseya. Pricing strong; data residency American by default.
- No self-hosted option. If your customer's contract or your regulator requires AU-only data, you'll need a different tool.
- Excellent for MSPs already standardised on the Kaseya stack. Vendor lock-in is meaningful; restore exports are limited.
Veeam for Microsoft 365
- The gold-standard self-hosted M365 backup product. Mature, well-understood, deeply integrated with Veeam's broader stack.
- No managed offering from Veeam directly. You run it. You patch it. You scale the storage. You write the runbook.
- If you already run Veeam for endpoints and servers, the case is strong. If you're starting fresh, it's a heavy commitment.
Acronis Cyber Protect
- Bundles M365 backup with EDR, antivirus, patching, and DR. One vendor, lots of surface area, lots of integration work.
- Strong if you want to consolidate every "cyber" line item. Confusing if you only need backup and want it good.
- Australian region exists; default region is not. Restore granularity is solid; UX is dated relative to current SaaS standards.
